Pothi.com Review: Not Recommended for Serious Authors or Businesses

Pothi.com claims to be India’s #1 Print-on-Demand (POD) service, but my experience tells a completely different story. If you’re a writer, educator, or entrepreneur looking to publish and sell books professionally, I strongly advise against using Pothi.com. The platform is plagued with inefficiencies, irresponsible behavior, and a lack of professionalism. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my experience and why Pothi.com is not just bad for business — it’s a risk to your brand and reputation.

🔴 1. Customer Support: The Worst I’ve Ever Experienced

Their customer support is nothing short of horrendous. They routinely ignore emails—even urgent ones related to pending orders, missing deliveries, or incomplete books. On the rare occasion that you do receive a reply, it’s vague, delayed, and often copy-pasted. There is no escalation system, no live chat, no phone number that gets answered, and no accountability. As a creator, it feels like you’re completely on your own once they take your money.

⚠️ 2. Fake Shipment Notifications & Misleading Updates

One of the most alarming issues is their habit of sending fake shipment notifications. You receive an email saying your book has been dispatched, but the courier never picks it up—or worse, the tracking number is invalid or inactive for days. This kind of dishonesty is completely unacceptable, especially when customers are waiting for their orders and expecting timely delivery.

3. Missing Deliveries & Incomplete Orders

There have been multiple cases where I’ve ordered 2 or more books, and only 1 arrives. The rest? Vanished without explanation. No apology, no refund, and no follow-up—even after repeated emails. This creates massive problems for sellers or educators who depend on timely and complete deliveries for students or customers.

📦 4. Unfinished & Half-Printed Books

This was the most shocking part of my experience: receiving books that were half-printed, missing pages, or improperly bound. In one case, the interior pages were cut off mid-sentence and the book ended abruptly without a conclusion. Such quality issues are not just unprofessional—they are embarrassing and can ruin your credibility if you’re distributing the books to clients or students.

💸 5. No Refunds for Canceled or Failed Orders

If your order is canceled (even due to their error), you will not receive a refund. There’s no proper refund system in place, and they outright ignore refund requests, no matter how justified. It feels like once they have your payment, they completely detach themselves from responsibility.

⚙️ 6. Incompetent Handling & Poor Management

Pothi.com simply does not know how to handle a publishing business. From order processing to quality control, everything is broken. Their workflows are outdated, there’s no live tracking system, and you get no visibility into the actual production process. You’re left guessing and hoping things work out—which, most of the time, they don’t.

🛑 7. Not Suitable for Individuals or Entrepreneurs

If you’re an independent author, coach, or small business trying to publish books, workbooks, or educational material—avoid Pothi.com at all costs. They don’t just fail to support your business—they can actively harm it. You’ll end up wasting time, losing money, and damaging your credibility in front of your audience.

Verdict: Not Worth It. Use Better Alternatives

Despite their tall claims, Pothi.com fails in nearly every critical area of publishing:

AreaExperience
Customer Service❌ Extremely poor
Order Fulfillment❌ Incomplete and delayed
Product Quality❌ Unfinished, low-grade books
Refund Process❌ Practically non-existent
Business Friendliness❌ Not suitable at all

🔄 Better Alternatives You Should Consider

  • Amazon KDP – For better printing, global reach, and timely royalties.
  • NotionPress – Better customer service and fulfillment in India.
  • Self-managed printing + Shopify – For full control and brand-building.

📢 Final Words

My experience with Pothi.com was not just disappointing—it was a major setback to my publishing business. The platform lacks professionalism, transparency, and basic customer ethics. Unless they completely overhaul their system, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone who values their time, money, or customers.

Use Pothi.com only if you’re ready to be ignored, frustrated, and disappointed.
