5. Charlie 777 

Charlie became the fifth highest-grossing movie of 2022 in the Kannada industry. Which made a gross collection of 107 crores worldwide, and it was in 31st position among the highest-grossing movies in India. 

777 Charlie was directed by Kiranraj K and produced by Paramvah Studios. It stars a labrador dog named Charlie in the title role, along with actors Rakshit Shetty, Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B. Shetty, Danish Sait, and Bobby Simha. The story follows the relationship and journey between a stray labrador dog and a lonely factory worker.

4. James

James became the 4th highest-grossing Kannada movie of 2022 with a whooping 150 crores worldwide collection, which is huge for the Kannada film industry. 

James was directed by Chethan Kumar. It stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Priya Anand, with Rajkumar’s role being his final appearance before his death in October 2021. This film marks the second collaboration between Rajkumar, Anand, and Sarathkumar after their previous film  Raajakumara in 2017. The film’s score and soundtrack are composed by V. Harikrishna and Charan Raj, respectively.

3. Vikrant Rona 

Vikrant Rona Became 3rd Highest Grossing Kannada movie, with whopping 158 Crores. SIR SS Rajamauli also Congratulated Kichha Sudeep for his Success. 

Vikrant Rona was written and directed by Anup Bhandari and produced by Jack Manjunath with co-production by Alankar Pandian. It stars Sudeepa in the title role as Inspector Vikrant Rona, alongside Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film’s plot centers around Inspector Rona, who investigates a series of unexplained supernatural events in a remote village located in a tropical rainforest.

2. Kantara 

Our 2nd number movie has a jump of 76% from the 5th number movie, with a mountain-like collection of 450 crores, Kantara secured the 2nd position, also this movie became the most liked movie of the country, surprisingly The budget of the movie was between 15 to 20 crores. 

It became the highest-grossing Kannada language movie with 183 crores rupees. It became the fourth highest-grossing movie of 2022 in the country.

1. KGF Chapter 2 

KGF Chapter 2 was the Highest Grossing movie of the Year in Kannada movie of the year and the 2nd Highest Grossing movie of the Year (1st was the RRR), This film broke all the records and made a worldwide collection of 1200 crores. But it came second in its home state Karnataka. It earned Rs 142 crores in the Kannada language. 

K.G.F: Chapter 2 is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films. It is the second installment in a two-part series and serves as a sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1. 

The film features an ensemble cast including Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Archana Jois, Vasishta N. Simha, Achyuth Kumar, Rao Ramesh, Easwari Rao, Malavika Avinash, B. Suresha and T.S Nagabharana. The story follows the assassin Rocky who, after establishing himself as the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields, must maintain his dominance over adversaries and government officials, while also coming to terms with his past.
